Ranma's Challenger, Ennemy and Friend

Ryoga Hibiki is a very important character in this anime. From junior high school to today's present Ryoga is Ranma Saotome's ennemy. Indeed when they were very young Ranma and Ryoga were always challenging themselves to get the last portion of bread in thier lunch room. Ryoga became very angry at Ranma for always snatching "his" lunch food before him.
Because his anger was so great, Ryoga followed Ranma and Genma to Jusenkyo and fell into the "Spring of Drowned Black Piglet". However his fall wasn't an accident and was caused by Ranma. Ranma with incredible anger for his father's ignorance about the curse of the springs of Jusenkyo knocked Ryoga off his feet and made him fall into a spring.
During the first battle between Ranma and Ryoga that is shown, Ryoga is changed into a black piglet and is found by Akane Tendo who immidiatly adopts him and rename's him as P-chan (cute pig) without knowing what and who P-chan really is.
Ranma desires to tell Akane who P-chan really is however because Ryoga made him promise not to tell Akane he is not able to. Because of the tremendous affection Akane shows to Ryoga, Ryoga falls in love with her but doesn't dare to tell her how he feels about her.
