Ranma 1/2 is the story about a young boy named Ranma Saotome and his father Genma Saotome. Mr Genma Saotome is a master in martial arts and has a school that teaches this art. Ranma who is very talented in the art desires to become one of the greatest masters of the art. Ranma and Genma Saotome both wanting to become greater in their sport decided to go to the Mount Quanjing in China to follow some intense training. However after a only a few minutes of battle both Ranma and his father fall into cursed sources and find sameselves transormed into different creatures. From then on Ranma becomes a big chest, red-haired, beautiful girl and his father becomes a giant panda at the contact of cold water. Only hot water allows them to become once again what they truly are.
After some time Genma decides that they will go back to Japan to find a fiancee for Ranma. Ranma's father sent a postcard to his best friend called Mr. Tendo who is the father of three beautifull young girls name Kasumi, Nabiki and Akane. One of these girls would become Ranma's future wife. However Ranma doesn't want to have a wife and prefers to train then waste his time with a fiancee.
Mr Tendo decides then to fiancee his youngest daughter Akane to Ranma for she is very masculin and loves the martial arts. But their first encounter being very embarassing Ranma and Akane do not get along together and don' t express the growing feeling of love that grows inside themselves with hugs and kisses but with insults and critics about each others bodys, sport capabilities and much more.
From then on both the Tendos and the Saotomes live crazy aventures that creates a stonger bond between their mad family.
